Microneedling is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure that’s used to treat skin concerns by stimulating collagen production. What to expect:
Day 1: Red appearance of the skin will vary depending on your treatment and the depth of the penetration of the needles.
Day 2: Redness or pinkness of the skin will be similar to moderate sunburn. Swelling may be more noticeable.
Day 3: Skin may still be pink or have returned to normal color. Swelling will subside.
Contraindications:
• Have active skin cancer in the treatment area(s)
• Have open wounds, sores, or irritated skin in the
treatment area(s)
• Have an allergy to stainless steel or anesthetics
• Have a hemorrhagic (bleeding) disorder or hemostatic
(bleeding) dysfunction
• Are pregnant or nursing
• Are currently taking drugs with the ingredient
isotretinoin (such as Accutane)
Absolute contraindications include: scleroderma, collagen vascular diseases or cardiac abnormalities; rosacea or blood clotting problems; active bacterial or fungal infections; immuno-suppression; and facial fillers used in the past 6 months.
